Sixty fully funded airline pilot training places announced by Jet2.com

Up to sixty places for a fully funded airline pilot training course have been announced by UK airline Jet2.com.

Applications for the course, called Jet2FlightPath, open today (13 May 2025) for the next three weeks (at time of going to press). It’s open to candidates from all backgrounds – see details below.

Jet2FlightPath will place successful candidates with one of three Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) for an 18-month long course. The ATOs are: FTEJerez, Leading Edge Aviation and Skyborne Airline Academy.

It’s the first time Jet2.com has held a sponsored pilot training programme, which was announced this morning. Jet2.com currently employs 1,800 pilots and operates a fleet of 135 aircraft.

Training Partners

Jet2.com said, “We’ve partnered with three outstanding training providers for the Jet2FlightPath Programme. Each boasts excellent facilities and a first-class track record of success .

“While you you can’t select which training provider you train with, we will always aim to match you with the institution that best suits your individual needs.

“On completion of training, you can look forward to joining us as a Second Officer, where we’ll train you to operate one of our Boeing or Airbus aircraft at one of our 13 UK bases. You’ll receive dedicated support from our friendly team throughout, helping you to feel part of the Jet2.com & Jet2holidays family from day one.”

Jet2FlightPath Eligibility

• A passion for aviation and strong desire for a career in aviation
• A commitment to customer service and Working as One Team
• Age – you must be at least 17 years old at the time of application and turn 18 by 1 August 2025
• Minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher, including Mathematics and a Science subject
• Equivalent qualifications accepted (e.g., Scottish National 5s, International Baccalaureate, and other recognised international qualifications).
• Full and unrestricted right to work in the UK
• Native English speaker, or equivalent proficiency (minimum IELTS Academic 5.5 or Level 5 per aviation standards).
• Hold, or be eligible for, a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Valid passport with at least 12 months’ validity remaining and no travel restrictions
• Height – applicants must be between 1.57m (5ft 2in) and 1.91m (6ft 3in).
