Breezer microlight coming to UK

The Breezer microlight is coming to the UK. Ascent Industries, which already operates EuroFOX Aviation in the UK, has agreed a deal with the German manufacturer.

The Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) version of the Breezer is already for sale in the UK through Absolute Aviation, and this arrangement will continue.

The all-metal Breezer B400 microlight will be assembled at EuroFOX’s new facility in Kent which has been approved by the UK CAA for manufacturing microlight aircraft.

Ascent CEO Roger Cornwell said, “Since the considerable time and financial investment in the recent Ascent Industries CAA A8-1 and A8-9 approvals, it makes sense to build on this investment with a compatible aircraft to distribute and support in the UK. The Breezer is an excellent stablemate to the already successful EuroFOX, each aircraft complimenting the other.”

The Breezer microlight will be available through the BMAA’s administration system, with plans to introduce both a microlight and higher weight kit version as a second step. Initial satisfactory CAA flight testing and BMAA inspection have already taken place, with the first UK demonstrator expected to be flying during August 2016.

The Breezer B400 microlight has an empty weight of 275kg (depending on equipment) and a max weight of 450kg (472.5kg when fitted with a ballistic rescue parachute). Max speed (Vne) is 135kt and max cruise speed is 125kt.

Depending on BCAR Section S approval work, a ready-to fly-microlight Breezer is expected to be available to customers later in 2016. Prices are expected to be similar to existing low wing aluminium microlight aircraft in the UK, said Ascent.
