1. Vintage Aircraft Club Spring Fly-In

3. BMAA Microlight Trade Fair

Saturday and Sunday, 29-30 April
Popham Airfield, near Winchester
Fair attracts up to 40 exhibitors and 3,000-plus visitors.

4. Easter Summer Fly-in

24 June
Easter Airfield, Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland
Longest day at a beautiful airfield.

5. SleapKosh ‘23

Aka, Sleap International Fly-in
Friday to Sunday, 7-9 July

A weekend of warbirds, trade stalls, music – and much more run by the Shropshire Aero Club

6. Breighton G-George Day

8 July
Breighton Airfield, Breighton, Selby, Yorkshire
1940s Themed Celebration of Aviation, featuring vintage/classic aerobatic competition, visiting aircraft, static aero engines, military vehicles, brass band, car/motorcycle clubs, period dress, evening hangar party with live music, run by The Real Aeroplane Club

7. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

Monday to Sunday, 24-30 July
Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA
World’s biggest aviation event: a celebration of all things aviation related – warbirds, vintage, homebuilts, ultralights – and a whole lot more. See the full schedule and book tickets for ‘Oshkosh’ here

Timber Tiger PT-22
The Timber Tiger ST-L, a 95% replica of a Ryan PT-22 and created by Nick Pfannenstiel. The project has appeared at Oshkosh since 2015 but it's the first time we've seen the aircraft complete and flying

8. Lundy Sunday

Sunday 30 July
Lundy Island
Lundy lies off the coast of North Devon, where the Atlantic ocean meets the Bristol Channel with nothing between it and America. It’s a granite outcrop, three miles long and half a mile wide. Suitable for certain types or aircraft – and skills! The fly-in is organised by Cornwall Flying Club

Lundy Island lies off the coast of North Devon. Lundy Sunday is one of the more unusual fly-ins, and is popular with certain types of aircraft – and skills!

9. Shuttleworth Flying Proms Evening Airshow

Saturday 19 August
Shuttleworth, Old Warden, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire
A full symphony orchestra, accompanied by an elegantly choreographed air display, plus the unique climax of a firework display and airborne pyrotechnics to music. See the full schedule and buy tickets here

LAA Grass Roots Fly-in

Friday to Sunday, 1-3 September (tbc)
Popham Airfield (tbc)
The Light Aircraft Association (LAA) has yet to confirm whether it will again stage the LAA Grass Roots Fly-in at Popham but the 2022 event was a definite success. Let’s hope so!

Dave says: “This is a revival of an old tradition set in a spectacular Mediterranean backdrop. Montenegro is establishing itself as a sport flying and seaplane centre.”
